• The Bose Einstein Condensate:
• The speed of light going thru the molecules of Rubidium chilled to within millionths of a degree Kelvin (Absolute Zero) drops to nearly zero.  At this temperature, the entire cohort of particles collapses to a single quantum state, which is the defining feature of the Einstein Bose Condensate.  This freezing of field energy at a point in space is mediated by the storage of the photon’s light energy in the atoms through which the particle travels.  The energy of the EM wave is stored in the atoms of the Einstein Bose Condensate until they are released to continue along its path.  During the time when the EM wave is fully stopped, the E & B fields are incorporated into the crystalline structure of the Einstein-Bose Condensate as potential energy in the structure of the condensate rather than as a photon or EM wave.  If the quantum state of all the particles in the Condensate were identical while the energy of the photon was fully absorbed into the Condensate, then there would be no need for the energy of the photon to move.
• In early experiments with the Condensate, the speed of light was reduced to a few meters per second.  Later experiments showed brought light to a full stop.  The single quantum state type effect appears suddenly at temperatures around a billionth of a degree Kelvin.  At this temperature the thermal vibration of all the BEC atoms falls into exactly the same quantum state.  
• The underlying experiment explaining how the slow speed of light is achieved in a Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) is as follows:

1. The transmission of light through the BEC is usually zero, i.e. it is opaque except at a particular frequency of the BEC.  

2. The Condensate acts as a single atom; all the atoms in the BEC move in the same direction at that same time.  
3. The BEC was vibrated by a laser light wave directed from one side, while a second beam was transmitted through the BEC at 90°.  
4. The photons were essentially being absorbed, and re-emitted by being passed through a medium whose light conductivity was being modulated.  
5. This thesis is further proven by another experiment where the side beam was turned off for 10 seconds.  During this time, the light was absorbed by the BEC.  The light was then re-emitted when the side illumination was restored.
